Dear friends:

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the sizzling new internet barbecue store, www.stevenraichlen.eu and to introduce you to its creator (for those of you who don’t know him already), Ralph de Kok.    I have met and grilled with Ralph several times and I can tell you, the man knows his barbecue!

I’m particularly excited that this store will service the Benelux countries, as I have a strong personal connection with all three.    Luxembourg was the first country I visited in Europe.    Belgium is home to one of the world’s best grill restaurants, Elckerlijc, in the town of Maldegem.    And Amsterdam is one my favorite cities anywhere—a place I visit often to meet with my Dutch publisher, Karakter Uitgevers.

The Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue is built on three basic principles.

  • That barbecue tools should be designed not by engineers, but by people who actually grill.
